On A Friday has the perfect post-holiday/back-to-school show for you on January 21 at The Middle East Upstairs. We're bringing you a mix of music from the Boston acts Nooka Jones, Mystery Roar, and Pretty & Nice.Nooka Jones has been working on his new material over the past year and will be debuting his "live" music for the first time. He's also releasing a Pretty & Nice remix for free to all concert attendees. He draws inspiration from just about everywhere but is most influenced by London's dubstep scene and his classical music roots.
Mystery Roar, voted "New Act of the Year" in the 2009 Boston Music Awards, is a six-piece fusion of electronic dance/funk music. They've released an EP and have been receiving a lot of buzz for their upcoming album. They're super groovy and we're stoked to work with them.
Pretty & Nice is a post-punk/dance/rock/pop band from Boston and they haven't had a show at their home base since they got back from their European tour in the fall. We're glad to have them on board--they've really accomplished a lot over the last year and they've got a new drummer in the mix!
