Hot Stove/Cool Music enters its tenth year of existence, bringing together the sports (baseball, specifically) and music worlds to raise money for worth causes.  The host organization, A Foundation To Be Named Later, provides much needed funding to a variety of local charities and is headed by Red Sox GM Theo Epstein and his brother Paul, and continues its tradition of holding two separate events.  The first one (the Hot Stove portion) focuses on a freewheeling round-table exchange concerning all-things baseball, headed by the venerable baseball journalist Peter Gammons, and this year the panel includes Red Sox manager Terry Francona, Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Carlos Pena, New York Mets GM Omar Minaya, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo and other special guests.  Boston Herald sportswriter Jeff Horrigan will serve as panel moderator and will take questions from the audience.  Sounds like nirvana for baseball junkies.

The Cool Music portion is a live music event with local actor/all-around funnyman Mike O'Malley once again providing MC duties, and this year's lineup features indie rockers State Radio; pop supergroup Tinted Windows (comprised of Hanson's Taylor Hanson, Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger, Smashing Pumpkin's James Iha and Cheap Trick's Bun E. Carlos); Americana band (and Magnet's choice for #1 album of 2009) The Low Anthem.  Additionally, Peter Gammons indulges his music-loving side as well by once again appearing with the Hot Stove All-Stars, which features a mix of sports personalities and local Boston music figures (Theo Epstein, Buffalo Tom's Bill Janovitz, Cincinnati's Bronson Arroyo, Dropkick Murphys' Ken Casey, and Letters To Cleo's Kay Hanley, among others).

The Roundtable will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Fenway Park's State Street Pavilion. Tickets for the Roundtable are $100 and are available now by logging onto http://hscm.tickets.musictoday.com Tickets for the concert are $40 and are available at ticketmaster.com, 866-448-7849 and the House of Blues box office.
